Statistics on enterprises in cultural sectors are available via Eurostat’s Structural Business Statistics (SBS) collection. The data are collected according to the international classification of economic activities. NACE Rev.1.1 was used until reference year 2007. NACE Rev.2 has been implemented from 2008 onwards but the detailed results for the latter were not available at the time of writing the pocketbook 2011. Therefore, only economic data for the publishing sector are presented for the latest available year (2007), according to NACE Rev.1.1.
Short-term Statistics (STS) provide, among others, turnover index data for economic activities.
NACE Rev.2 classification was implemented in 2009 and a new base year (2005) for the indices was adopted the same year.
Turnover index data by NACE Rev.2 are available for publishing, motion picture, video and television programme production, sound recording and music publishing activities and programming and broadcasting activities.
