Data

The relevant tables are listed in the following:

ESA-Code Title
Table 1500

Supply table at basic prices including a transformation into purchasers’ prices

Table 1600

Use table at purchasers’ price

Table 1700

Symmetric input-output table at basic prices

Table 1800

Symmetric input-output table for domestic output

Table 1900

Symmetric input-output table for imports

Consolidated tables for the European Union and the euro area are available via the Eurostat database. However country data are not available via eurobase. The national tables currently in stock are listed in the availability overview.

Supply, Use and Input-Output tables are available in national currency (NAC) and for non-EMU Member States now also in euro/ECU. The conversion rates applied are the bilateral exchange rates of the national currency against the euro (from 1 January 1999) and the ECU (until 31 December 1998). All rates are official annual average, as published by the ECB. Workbooks in Euro/ECU are identified by the string _eur in their name.

A few countries have provided more than the obligatory tables, e.g. tables differentiating domestic and imported use, trade and transport margin matrices, symmetric input-output tables at purchaser prices, etc. These tables have been integrated in the workbooks but are not explicitly mentioned in the availability overview.

For each country all available tables and years of the series 1500 to 1900 are collected in one Excel workbook; tables in current and in constant prices are split to two workbooks. Each table is a separate sheet within the workbook.

If your focus is on international and/or intertemporal comparisons for a limited number of industries and/or products, the tables in Excel form maybe sub-optimal. In this case you may profit from the database functions of the Eurostat website, which hosts also standardised tables of the IOT domain. However, due to technical problems the collections there are not yet complete.
