Comext DVD

Eurostat publishes monthly DVDs for the most recent data and different supplement versions for annual and historical data. You can download for free the content of a DVD from the Bulk Download or you can buy it from the EU bookshop website.

Content of DVDs

Each monthly DVD contains the following information:

Monthly and annual trade for the European Union and for each EU Member State for the latest months:
- detailed data for approximately 10 000 product lines, classified into 99 chapters, for 250 partner countries and 50 partner economic zones
- main indicators: value (Euro and national currencies) and in quantity (tonnes and supplementary units)

An additional datasets for extra-EU imports by tariff regime
An additional dataset for EFTA countries

Technical description:

Operating under WINDOWS 95, 98, 2000, XP, (in Vista this application needs to be run with administrator rights) the standard DVD offers many features:

Consultation and extraction of data
Presentation of data availability status
Downloading of data in the form of files capable of being imported into conventional tables
Code search by keywords
Customized generation of aggregates for countries and products

It also enables users to sort data, calculate ratios and indices; it includes the complete nomenclature of countries and products, the methodology and a user manual.

Intra- and extra-EU trade - Monthly data (CN - Supplement 1)

This DVD is published once a year. It contains monthly data for all Member States and EU from 1998 to the latest year available.

Intra- and extra-EU trade - Annual data (CN - Supplement 2)

This DVD is published once a year. It contains yearly data for all Member States and EU from 1988 to the latest year available.

Extra-EU trade by transport mode - Monthly data (NSTR Nomenclature - Supplement 3)

This DVD is published once a year. It contains data by transport mode for all Member States and EU from 1998 to the latest year available.

All DVDs contain, apart from statistics on trade of Member States, also the relevant metadata: classifications of countries and products, methodological notes, notes on the data availability and the user manual.

EEC external trade: Nimexe - Annual data 1976-1987 (Available only in Bulk download section)

This CD-ROM contains historical data on European Economic Community trade from 1976 to 1987, broken down by product codes classified according to the Nimexe classification. The Nimexe classification was applied to collect trade statistics before the implementation of the combined nomenclature in January 1988.
