What does the Eurostat website offer?

The Eurostat website provides direct and free of charge online access to all its statistical databases and associated electronic publications. The Eurostat database is updated twice a day and covers:

  • the European Union
  • the EU Member States
  • the euro-zone
  • Candidate countries
  • EFTA countries

 

What are the available formats?
  • Online: with direct access to:
    • the complete Eurostat data presented in EU policy indicators tables and in 9 themes
    • all Eurostat publications in PDF format
  • Offline: Possibility to choose from Eurostat's comprehensive range of printed publications and DVDs, which, collectively, cover all areas of European statistics. These Eurostat publications can be ordered via the EU Bookshop.
Search functions:

  • use SEARCH to enter any keyword(s) relevant to the data you wish to find. This will produce a results page listing all Eurostat products that contain your keyword(s) as a publication or dataset attribute. By using the ADVANCED SEARCH function you will be able to create more targeted and sophisticated queries. You can access the search function from any location on the website by clicking on the icon Your browser may not support display of this image. which is placed on the top of the page beside the tabs.
  • use Browse / Search database to find all datasets which contain your keywords in heading or description of dataset.

Compact guides and catalogues

Compact guides and catalogues are free of charge and can be downloaded from Eurostat's website via the Compact guides and catalogue page. Currently, they include:

  • Mini-guide - Eurostat publications and databases - provides an introduction to Eurostat as well as an overview of the statistical themes, databases, services and products that it offers.
  • Various thematical leaflets (leaflets with selected information and data).
