Eurostat's role in international statistical co-operation is to provide an advisory service.

This service is given to Directorates Generals of the Commission, to Commission delegations, national statistical authorities and Eurostat units.

The purpose is to assist with respect to:

• development policies,
• in relations with international organisations and
• in matters of common statistical interest with non-European regions or countries.
