The European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) will hold its 12th meeting this Thursday, 9th February 2012, at Eurostat.
ESSC members will discuss, among other issues, a proposal for changes in the current organisational structure of the ESS, in order to further streamline its activities and also to make the most efficient use of scarce resources.
Other topics on the agenda include discussions concerning proposals to establish a European Master in Official Statistics (EMOS) and to define a strategic approach to promote a closer cooperation on geospatial information in the ESS, as the integration of geographical and statistical information offers important opportunities to maximize the utility of data collected.
