The 9th European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) meeting takes place today and tomorrow, 18 and 19 May 2011.
The members of the ESSC will meet for one and a half days to discuss issues such as the draft Annual Work Programme 2012 and the draft European Statistical Programme 2013-2017 as well as the ongoing revision of the Code of Practice. Furthermore, the ESSC is also asked to approve the list of ESSnet projects 2012 and to discuss the new EU 2020 headline indicator on innovative high growth enterprises.
Eurostat will inform the Committee of the next steps following the adoption of the Commission communication COM(2011) 211 "Towards robust quality management for European Statistics" and present a comprehensive legislative policy for the ESS.
