In the EU27, household electricity prices rose by 6.3% between the second half of 2010 and the second half of 2011, after an increase of 5.6% between the second half of 2009 and 2010.

In the construction sector, seasonally adjusted production rose by 12.4% in the euro area (EA17) and by 11.8% in the EU27 in March 2012, compared with the previous month. In February, production fell by 10.4% in the euro area and by 5.7% in the EU27.

The average standard VAT rate in the EU27 has risen strongly since 2008. In 2012, the standard VAT rate varies from 15.0% in Luxembourg and 17.0% in Cyprus to 27.0% in Hungary and 25.0% in Denmark and Sweden.
