2012/05/24 Confidence of entrepreneurs and consumers decreased

Overall confidence in domestic economy decreased again in May. The composite confidence indicator (economic sentiment indicator) decreased by 1.6 points compared to April. Among entrepreneurs confidence increased slightly only in trade; in construction, in selected services and in industry declined. Confidence of consumers decreased too. Composite confidence indicator is lower, compare to May 2011.

2012/05/17 Year-on-year growth of industrial producer prices slowed down

In April 2012 compared with the previous month agricultural producer prices and market services prices increased by 0.7% and 0.9%, respectively. Industrial producer prices stayed unchanged. Construction work prices fell by 0.1%. In comparison to April 2011, prices of agricultural producers, construction works and market services were lower by 2.8%, 0.7% and 0.8%, respectively. Industrial producer prices increased by 2.2%.

2012/05/17 External trade prices continue to fall, m-o-m

In March 2012, export prices decreased by 1.2%, import prices by 0.7%, month-on-month. Export prices went up by 2.5%, import prices rose 4.2%, year-on-year. The terms of trade figures reached 99.5%, m-o-m, and 98.4%, y-o-y.

2012/05/15 GDP in the first quarter further decreased

In the Q1 2012, the gross domestic product adjusted for price, seasonal, and calendar effects decreased by 1.0%, both in the year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter comparison, according to the preliminary estimate.

2012/05/11 The Czech republic is still more favourite destination for Russians

Q1 2012, the number of guestsﾒ overnight stays in collective accommodation establishments increased by 8.7% year-on-year, of which non-residents by 13.0% and residents by 4.6%. In total, more guests arrived by 12.8%, of which foreigners by 14.4% and residents by 11.3% more.

2012/05/10 Food prices fell after seven months

The total consumer price level in April remained unchanged compared with March. The month-on-month development of consumer prices came from a price drop in 'food and non-alcoholic beverages' (after seven consecutive months of uninterrupted growth), which was compensated by an increase in prices in 'clothing and footwear' and 'transport'. The rise in consumer prices slowed down to 3.5%, year-on-year (3.8% in March).
