Rural development statistics
Rural development statistics aim to measure economic, social and environmental issues related to rural areas. They give an insight into the specific features of the regions (NUTS3) in the light of their rural/urban types.

Rural development statistics may answer questions such as:
- Is the unemployment risk higher in rural areas?
- Is the ageing of population more pronounced in rural areas?
- Which are the more important sectors in rural areas?
