Europe in figures – Eurostat yearbook 2011 – presents a comprehensive selection of statistical data on Europe. With more than 420 statistical tables, graphs and maps, the yearbook is a definitive collection of statistical information on the European Union. Most data cover the period 1999-2009 for the European Union and its Member States, while some indicators are provided for other countries, such as members of EFTA, candidate countries to the European Union, Japan or the United States.

Environmental statistics and accounts in Europe presents a selection of environmental statistics and accounts available at Eurostat and its partner institutions, such as the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission and the European Environment Agency.
Chapter 3 on 'waste' shows results and statistical assessments based on data collected under the Waste Statistics Regulation and various other reporting obligations from Member States to the European Commission. Statistics on total waste generation and treatment, on hazardous waste, municipal waste and packaging waste, end of life vehicles and many other specific waste streams are presented in this publication.
"The year 2005 edition presents an update of the successful 2003 publication on 'Waste generated and treated in Europe'. It is the last publication based on the data collection via the joint OECD/Eurostat questionnaire. In 2006 this questionnaire will be replaced by reporting under the Waste Statistics Regulation. This publication provides important baseline data for the implementation of national and European policies on waste management. In addition, it informs about the new legally covered reporting scheme."
The multi-thematic pocketbook Energy, transport and environment indicators comprises a broad set of data collected by Eurostat and the European Environment Agency. The objective of this publication is to provide an overview of the most relevant indicators on energy, transport and environment, with particular focus on sustainable development. It presents data for the European Union aggregate (EU-27, for the EU Member States as well as for the candidate countries and EFTA countries.
