On 20 October 2010, the world will celebrate the first World Statistics Day.
The United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) initiated the celebration of World Statistics Day on 20.10.2010 to illustrate and emphasize the many achievements of official statistics.
It will acknowledge the service provided by the global statistical system at national and international level, thus striving to strengthen the awareness and trust of the public in official statistics. It serves as an advocacy tool to further support the work of statisticians across different institutional settings, cultures, and domains.
UNSC has put in place a website, where information on World Statistics Day activities taking place around the world is available.
Eurostat will mark this day with:
|
